Garden

31.07.23 | Whitney

Well, I have failed at gardening this year. For anything that “actually” matters, that is. Now, the weekly bouquet of table flowers brings me so much joy that it’s a little ridiculous. I offered them for sale, but no one wanted one. Isn’t that stupid??! Who doesn’t want pretty flowers?! Whatever. It’s fine. I’ve put up 13 pints and 6 quarts of green beans, so THATS something!! Three weeks until I have our fourth baby. Maybe I’ll wander thru the weeds for a bouquet while I’m in labor. But hey, it’s August, and I’m already planning out putting the garden to bed with compost and tarps in the fall for winter because NEXT year is on.  Also, just a word of advice, plant all your flowers at the front of your garden so they hide the absolute shit show that’s happening behind them.

Goals & Dreams

We continue to work toward growing and preserving our own food as we raise chickens & pigs for meat, a garden for pantry storage, bees for honey, and tend our milk cow, Sally.
